we exist to make, equip and send followers of jesus christ

The grace of God that rescued and changed us is the same grace, which enables us to love CHRIST with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.  It is this same grace, which allows us to move toward one another in loving COMMUNITY despite our diverse backgrounds, personalities, ethnicities and socioeconomic status.  It is this same grace, empowers us to fulfill our COMMISSION as ambassadors and representatives who spread the fame of Jesus to the nations!

In 2021 we purchased our new church home on the North side of Wilmington. For decades Pastor Terry Henry and Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church have served our neigborhood and we are humbled to take the “baton” from them.

A church is not a building, but the building does in some measure facilitate the life of our family. By God’s grace this new building will serve us like a new pair of running shoes that will enable us to run more effectively and make the biggest splash for the Kingdom for as long as the Lord allows us to serve Him!

To effectively plant and support healthy reproducing churches, our 5-10 year vision is to be a church of 500-600 people with four full-time staff with one of those staff roles being a church plant intern/resident who is preparing to be sent out. We believe this new building is a necessary component to fulfill that vision.

Additionally, our desire is to meet the practical needs of our city. In the gospel story, we see Jesus drawing near to us…becoming proximate to our needs, serving instead of being served. One of the factors that will enable us to effectively serve our city is proximity — proximity to the diverse needs of our neighbors. We believe this building is one tool God will use to help us engage the varying needs around us, and also allow our church family to reflect the ethnic and socio-economic diversity present in our community.

We thank God for allowing us to be a part of making Jesus known in our City! Come join us!
